Words on the page jumbled as contamination finally took hold. Her hand trembled, shoulders slumped and brow furrowed as the answers eluded her. She exhaled resignation, too late…and as good as dead.

    To die, surrounded by books, isn’t the worst way to go. Too bad she died just before earning the wings that would carry her through life. Wings of an angel now, I suppose. 🙂 Well done and, btw, congratulations on such an award-winning debut! The kudos were well-deserved. 🙂

    Hmm, I read the “contamination” less literally, more like the self-doubt or despair that plagues any writer or scholar. I like that it can be taken various ways. Great job on this piece, and congrats on last week’s win! Hope we see more of you at Trifecta. 🙂
